Chosen Gen 1's Blue & Silver Christmas

Last Thursday, Chosen Gen 1 spent our first Christmas dinner together! It was a magical evening with a Blue and Silver theme . Everyone came in the theme colours, perfectly complementing the lovely decorations set up by the team to create a festive atmosphere. The evening started off with some fun, and at times creamy ice-breakers.

The night then moved on into a message which was perfectly short and sweet, yet full of substance, which was cleverly drilled into everyone's mind. For dinner, Iron Chef Christopher, together with the help of some others, served up traditional western Christmas dishes which were warmly welcomed by the hoards of hungry guests.

Everyone who came brought their Kris Kringle presents and these were exchanged from underneath the blue Christmas tree by the 'Blue Santa.' A round of Mafia, a game long forgotten and missed, was played and the people got really into the game, making it fun for all, even for those who were 'killed' off on the first round. Despite being a first timer, Daniel L went quite far into the game strategically letting other suspicious but innocent players take the blame. We have a challenger on our hands!

Much fun was had and it all concluded just in time for dessert - Warm Christmas pudding and Christmas log cake which served as the cherry to top off a perfect evening. A big thanks to everyone who made it happen - The organizers, chefs, helpers, decorators, cleaners and the house mates who hospitably welcomed us to make use of the house. Even to those just for coming along to join in the fellowship or bringing guests along.

Definitely the BEST Christmas dinner I've attended in years with the right amount of activities, message, food, fun, fellowship and Christmas spirit. Feedback has been 100% positive and may this event be our benchmark for future celebratory dinners!! Yataa!!

Paintball

Hahahha, it was so fun! I guess the most fun part for me was the fellowship! haha. Really blessed by you guys! muah!

Things I learn from paintball:

i sometimes find the enemy's team is more fervent in their attack than the church.
Haha, I guess the unknown and the pain was hindering us back then in the game. And then there's the fear of getting wounded, or rejection or other things to prevent us from doing what the Commander wants us to do, that we just stay behind the barrels and hide, or keep still. The paintball game just reminds me of the spiritual war...

I'd like to think that in spiritual war, as long as we wear our spiritual armor properly, God will protect us. As long as we step out in faith, God's covering and protection is upon us, and the thousands of bullets shot by the enemy's team will not be able to hurt a single hair of us, as we walk in faith and obedience.

Haha, I really enjoyed the game. thank you Jasmine shepherd for organising! :D And thank you bros and sis for giving me such a wonderful time!

btw, Yoyo found all of you very friendly! hahaha~~ :)

You guys rawk!!

Study group?

Hey hey.. :)
I was just thinking, do you guys wanna hang out on Saturdays? Maybe study group or something since we're having exams soon? Although some aren't studying anymore, you can come and read book or do your work or something? Heh. I can only think of my house as the place to meet but can you think of anywhere else? Our people are all over the place though.

We're on setup this week so we can head off for dinner then setup after that. :) How's that sound? Let me know ya! I'll need to ask the housemates if we can use my house but they'll probably be ok with it. :)

Anita: I can send you back after setup if you want. :)

We needa hang out more!!! And take silly photos. Hahaha.. Allan can be the camera man right??? :) Are you working on Saturdays? :P

Two 'Birthdays' & a welcome home girl.

Once again, a blessed 'Birthday' to Ken and Victor. More celebrations means more cake.

Can u see the carbs yet? If not we need more 'Birthdays' to take place!! The Kingdom of God is advancing!!!

In other news, Trina Warrior has stepped back into Melbourne for a short 5 days of wet and cold Melbourne weather so CG1 would like to extend a warm welcome to her.

Inside Giorgios

Outside Giorgios

Some new age Ballet ?

Mr CG1 striking a pose

The Trina bug has spread rapidly

Awww, lovely =]

Because GREEN is the new black

Until next time, lil one.

Before I end this post, I strongly encourage anyone in CG1 who has not yet signed up to FACEBOOK *cough* Anna *cough* to go and sign up RIGHT NOW because Facebook is the new E-mail. Many future events are very likely going to be organized through FB so to not have an account may lead to miscommunication and not being invited. Hahahahahaha.

And LASTLY Happy Saturday =]

Remember to let everyone know of this blog's existence and if you would like to be added as an author, drop a comment with your email and an invite will be sent out a.s.a.p!

Interesting Pic of Japan

As I was researching about Japan for a report, I came across this picture:

So cute right?!
I found this from a Christian site that tries to explain how God might feel towards the atomic bombs dropped in Japan during WWII.
The main religions in Japan are Shinto or Buddhism. But Japanese generally are not very religious, coming to temples and shrines during festival celebrations to ask for good luck, wealth and prosperity.
From the info I gathered, Christianity came to Japan through missionaries in 16th century. They began work mainly in western Japan, but the faith was persecuted by an emperor due to political reasons. Currently, Christians make up about less than 1% of the population in Japan. Japan needs Jesus!

I met a guy from Brunei

I have to say that I love this Bible Conference.

At the beginning of the Sunday service, they gave us time to greet people from other centres. I spoke to this guy, Richard, which is from Hope City Centre.

At that time, it was too noisy and I heard that he is from Thai instead of Brunei. Then he started speaking Cantonese to me when he knew I am from Hong Kong. I was so amazed that he is from Thai and he speaks Cantonese!! (At least I thought he is from Thai at that time LOL)

Then I spoke to Mary, a Thai girl from Clayton cg. I told her: "Hey, there is a guy from Thai can speak Cantonese." Then I pointed to Richard. She asked me, "Thai is Thailand or Taiwan?" Hmmm.. I was confused by her haaa. But she walked straight to Richard and greet him with Thai. And I felt stomachache and rushed to toilet, did not join their conversation.

During lunch time, I met Richard again. He said he was surprised that there was a girl walked to him and greeted him with Thai and found me disappeared hahahaa. He was so kind that he brought me to his caregroup and introduced his friends to me!

Then I realised Francis is in their caregroup as well!!! Francis is a guy who attended our caregoup and church previously. He told me at the time he stopped attending our church and caregroup, our former cg1. His friend brought him to another church in the city and started attending caregroup AND realised their caregroup is just next to his apartment!! AND the church his friend attending is HOPE City Centre!! AND now I know his friends!!

Did not see him for so long in Caulfield campus. I was surprised to see him in the Bible Conference. God is so amazing. It's really God's plan for him.

Bless
Derek

Praise God for Ken's Salvation!

Praise God that Ken accepted Jesus Christ in the church conference!!!! I'm soo sooo excited to hear that

Do keep Ken in prayer as he just took a step of faith in God... also pls do pray for Mavis's dad who was admitted to hospital last week and ask God to fill the family with joy and peace in this difficult time.

love,
Kam

Do you know? 1

Miscellaneous info from the conference:

Do you know that time is created when the universe began? According to the scientists, the universe began when t=0.
And hence, God, who is outside the time dimension that we are in, is able to see the past, present and future.

Hallelujah!

Love,
Anita
