Interesting Pic of Japan

As I was researching about Japan for a report, I came across this picture:

So cute right?!
I found this from a Christian site that tries to explain how God might feel towards the atomic bombs dropped in Japan during WWII.
The main religions in Japan are Shinto or Buddhism. But Japanese generally are not very religious, coming to temples and shrines during festival celebrations to ask for good luck, wealth and prosperity.
From the info I gathered, Christianity came to Japan through missionaries in 16th century. They began work mainly in western Japan, but the faith was persecuted by an emperor due to political reasons. Currently, Christians make up about less than 1% of the population in Japan. Japan needs Jesus!

I met a guy from Brunei

I have to say that I love this Bible Conference.

At the beginning of the Sunday service, they gave us time to greet people from other centres. I spoke to this guy, Richard, which is from Hope City Centre.

At that time, it was too noisy and I heard that he is from Thai instead of Brunei. Then he started speaking Cantonese to me when he knew I am from Hong Kong. I was so amazed that he is from Thai and he speaks Cantonese!! (At least I thought he is from Thai at that time LOL)

Then I spoke to Mary, a Thai girl from Clayton cg. I told her: "Hey, there is a guy from Thai can speak Cantonese." Then I pointed to Richard. She asked me, "Thai is Thailand or Taiwan?" Hmmm.. I was confused by her haaa. But she walked straight to Richard and greet him with Thai. And I felt stomachache and rushed to toilet, did not join their conversation.

During lunch time, I met Richard again. He said he was surprised that there was a girl walked to him and greeted him with Thai and found me disappeared hahahaa. He was so kind that he brought me to his caregroup and introduced his friends to me!

Then I realised Francis is in their caregroup as well!!! Francis is a guy who attended our caregoup and church previously. He told me at the time he stopped attending our church and caregroup, our former cg1. His friend brought him to another church in the city and started attending caregroup AND realised their caregroup is just next to his apartment!! AND the church his friend attending is HOPE City Centre!! AND now I know his friends!!

Did not see him for so long in Caulfield campus. I was surprised to see him in the Bible Conference. God is so amazing. It's really God's plan for him.

Bless
Derek

Praise God for Ken's Salvation!

Praise God that Ken accepted Jesus Christ in the church conference!!!! I'm soo sooo excited to hear that

Do keep Ken in prayer as he just took a step of faith in God... also pls do pray for Mavis's dad who was admitted to hospital last week and ask God to fill the family with joy and peace in this difficult time.

love,
Kam

Do you know? 1

Miscellaneous info from the conference:

Do you know that time is created when the universe began? According to the scientists, the universe began when t=0.
And hence, God, who is outside the time dimension that we are in, is able to see the past, present and future.

Hallelujah!

1 Thessalonian 3:12-17

Therefore, as God's chosen people,
holy and dearly loved,
clothe yourselves
with compassion, kindness,
humility, gentleness and patience.

Bear with each other
and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.
Forgive
as the lord forgave you.

And over all these virtues
put on love,
which binds them all together
in perfect unity.

Let the peace of Christ rule
in your hearts,
since as members of one body
you were called to peace.
And be thankful.

Let the word of the Christ dwell in you richly
as you teach
and admonish one another with all wisdom,
and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs
with gratitude in yur hearts
to God.

And whatever you do,
whether in word or deed,
do it all in the name of the Lord
Jesus,
giving thanks to God the father
through Him.

Just thougt of sharing these verses, came across it as I was flipping the Bible. God rocks! :)

Wild Orchids Play

I feel like flooding this blog with entries...muahahaha.

What shall I talk about?

Ou, I shall describe my experience helping out a theatre production in uni, that has lesbianism as the core theme.

I do not know what I am getting myself into when I decided to help them out as backstage. I auditioned for the cast, and was so desperate when they said they have found someone else, that I just agreed to help them out in another way.

I did not realise that they are so many lesbians in the crew until the performance nights, and a handful are lovers too, or have lovers outside the production crew. It somewhat distubs me. I mean, these women, despite the way they dress, wearing men's clothes and shirts, sporting short, spiky hairstyles, they are still actually women. I choose to still treat them as women, and friends.

They are nice people. Some are really nice and friendly. Some are really pretty as well. And I was like thinking, man, what a pity for the guys that such beautiful girls choose to commit to homosexuality? And to think that many guys reckon that it was hot for girls to make out with each other? I guess this is called perversion?...

There was alot of swearing thoughout also. The F words. And I must confess that it somewhat influence me to say some swearing, like the "s" word. Please forgive me Lord. And I was just quite dismayed, yet I enjoy their company also, for they are nice people.

Another thing I felt when I associate with them is that, somehow I get the feeling that they are relating to me as if they are relating to the opposite sex, which makes me feel weird, because I treat them as women friends. And when I look at the appearance of the person, sometimes it's hard also to relate to them as girls or as guys...It's interesting yet sad...

I am green in these issues. can we have a discussion about these controversial issues affecting the society? and where is our stand...and how should we, as children of God respond. I'm sure God loves lesbians, butches, homos, emos, etc... But how can we be the shining light amidst these darkness...

How about pornography? I cannot deny that there is some pornography in the play too. It's not flesh-baring, but there is a sex scene whereby the actor and actress are placed on top of one another, with a complimentary sound effect. And these are actully all around. No wonder God is weeping. Sex, which is a beautiful gift from God, has been marred and twisted to become crooked.

Yahoo Groups!

Hi there everyone...

It's exciting how things are picking up in Church, and how God is eyeing on us, heoheoheoee...And I pray that we will always focus our eyes on the Lord through it all, so that ministry doesn't becomes our idol, lol.

Man, all the weeks of receving words of edification, encouragement and healing from God, it's been very encouraging! haha. And I just heard today during lunch of a couple who has their testimony came to pass!! God is so faithful! And it's really encouraging...Hope they will share about it next week on Sunday, so that God's goodness can be confirmed!

And let us continue to show love and care for one another...

By the way, speaking about yahoo groups...Let's have one! lol. What will be the name? In there shall be the full contact list of people in the caregroup, be it handphone, email and birthdays, etc! muahahaa...and there shall be lotsa pics too, such as those that Allen has taken! lol...And yeah, together, the blog and the yahoogrp shall be instruments of God in the Kingdom, to connect us more with each other...

heoheohee..

Newaes, yeah, so what shall the name be?! Do we wanna pray and fast for these few days about the name? hehehe..Let's get it started! :D

And this blog needs some serioud revamp...I can put up a chatterbox here, so everyone can leave comments...Allen, why not design a special template for the backgrd? :D

~God bless your week~
